EUPHORBIACEAE

Euphorbia Family

Euphorbia chaetocalyx (Boissier) Tidestrom var. chaetocalyx

Bristlecup spurge

synonym: Chamaesyce fendleri Torrey & Gray var. chaetocalyx

This species differs from the similar Euphorbia fendleri in having lanceolate, rather than ovate-orbicular to ovate-lanceolate, leaves and in having narrowly deltate and entire, rather than obtuse and crenate, glandular appendages. Both species are perennial, unusual for spurges in this area.
